William "Bill" Eugene Demarest, Sr.

William "Bill" Eugene Demarest, Sr. of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Monday morning, July 31, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on September 18, 1958 to Gene and Marilyn Demarest. He graduated from Lakeview High School and upon graduation served as a combat engineer for the U.S. Army. After serving in the Army, he worked for many places in and around Battle Creek. He enjoyed living on the small family farm in East Leroy, where he raised many farm animals.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Demarest; mother, Marilyn Baker, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Krista Picciuto; daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Cramutolo; son, William (Brianne) Demarest, Jr. and 2 beautiful granddaughters, Gabriella, and Freya Cramutolo. He is also survived by 1 brother, 2 half-brothers, several nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, James Lee Picciuto; nephew, Bud Picciuto; niece, Jasmine Maddox and several aunts and uncles.

A special thank you to the hospice staff at ProMedica Hospice, especially Megan and Amanda. As well as, retired pastor and friend, Mike Pennington who will officiate his funeral service.

The family will receive friends 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6^th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where services to celebrate his life will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 7^th.  Interment with full military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the American Legion Post #298 Ladies Auxiliary, 228 N. 20th Street, Springfield, MI 49037 .  Personal messages for the family may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
