William "Scott" Hay, age 67, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Scott was born in Battle Creek on January 15, 1955, the son of William and Elizabeth (Faber) Hay. He was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek and a graduate of Lakeview High School. Scott faithfully served his country in Vietnam in the U.S. Army. He worked for Canadian National Railroad as a machine operator in the track department his whole life and retired 7 years ago.
Scott loved hunting and fishing and made his own fish flies. He also enjoyed painting. Nicknamed "Wolf", Scott was a very dedicated member of the American Legion Posts #298 & #465 and the Posts #298 & #465 American Legion Riders, and volunteered with many flag lines and numerous events benefiting our veterans.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Hay; two daughters, Melanie Hay and Paula Hay; granddaughters, Christa Hay, Destiny Parker, Haylee Fettes, Katelyn Rench, Mckayla Mohnk and six great-grandchildren; his former wife of forty years, Deborah Hay; and a brother, Andy Hay.
A Last Ride Procession will begin 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 27th from Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where family & friends will begin lining up after 11:00 a.m. The Last Ride will conclude at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery where a graveside service with full military honors will be held.
