William Edward "Bill" Kanthack

William Edward "Bill" Kanthack, age 50, of Kalamazoo passed away Friday afternoon, July 9, 2021 at Bronson Methodist Hospital after a long fought battle with Cancer. He was born in Port Huron, Michigan at Mercy Hospital on September 21, 1970, the son of Steve and Glazier "Gay" (Weakland) Kanthack. Bill served in the United States Navy and then worked as a CDL Truck Driver for more than 20 years. For the past four years, Bill has owned & operated WK Services, a landscaping company in Kalamazoo.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Cierra Kanthack of Battle Creek; his grandson, Chevy Shaffer of Battle Creek; his parents, Steve (Priscilla) Kanthack of Bothell, WA and Glazier "Gay" Kanthack of Battle Creek; two brothers, Michael Kanthack of Bothell, WA and Bryan Kanthack of San Diego, CA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. He was sadly preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Kanthack in 1997.

A true outdoorsman and auto enthusiast, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking & of course smoking foods, and driving. He also truly loved his dogs and spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Chevy.

A cook out to celebrate Bill's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17th at 6881 S. 25th St., Kalamazoo, MI. 49048. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the American Cancer Society or to your local Humane Society. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel.
