William L. "Bill" Stubbs

William L. "Bill" Stubbs, age 72, of Richland passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, November 20, 2013 at the Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. He was born in Wabash, Indiana on July 17, 1941, the loving son of Lawrence W. and Bettie L. (Baldwin) Stubbs. Bill graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree from Murray State University, and retired from General Motors in 1999 after more than 32 years of faithful service.

Bill married the "Love of His Life", Rebecca A. "Becky" VanBlaricon in Marion, Indiana on June 6, 1965; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Kimberly (Fredrik) Knutsen of Houston, Texas and Mark William Stubbs of Nashville, Tennessee; his mother, Bettie L. Stubbs of Marion, Indiana; two grandchildren, Jakob and Ethan Knutsen; a brother, Gene (Becky) Stubbs of Marion, Indiana, and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence W. Stubbs.

Bill was an active member of the Richland Community Volunteers, Jaycees and was also a member of the Elk's Lodge in Marion, Indiana and had played for many years in the GM Retirees Golf League. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Richland and enjoyed golfing, working in his yard, fishing, boating, traveling and taking cruises, but he truly loved spending time with his family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Richland Chapel, 9170 East D. Ave. (M-89), Richland. A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church of Richland, 8047 Church St., Richland with Rev. Dr. Mark W.
