William Robert McDaniels, 66, of Battle Creek died at the Harvard House after a long illness.
Bill was born January 24, 1947, in Lansing, Michigan to Willard and Lillian (Hendrickson) McDaniels. He grew up in Lansing. Bill served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam and suffered most of his life with P.T.S.D. While serving with the Navy, Bill obtained his GED and later took additional classes at Lansing Community College. He was employed at Motor Wheel in Lansing. Bill spent years wandering throughout the United States trying to get his life back on track, but the terror of war haunted, depressed and caused him unknown trepidation.
Surviving are his sister, Nancy S. Bessette of Lansing; three nieces; one nephew and their families. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Terri Cooper and Kathleen Kessler
Bill enjoyed animals and playing cards. He was a Disabled American Veteran, who served his country admirably.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2014 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.
