William Arthur "Bill" Wells of Kalamazoo, MI
Bill, age 82, died Wednesday afternoon, July 18, 2018 at Kairos Dwelling, Kalamazoo.
Bill, the son of Orie and Alice (Coster) Wells, was born in Kalamazoo on September 3, 1935 and was lifetime resident. He served his Country honorably and nobly during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. Bill retired in 1995 from the Local Union # 337, Plumbers and Pipefitters and had been a member of the Yorkville Community Church, Ross Township. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a voracious reader, but spending time with family and friends was his passion in life.
Bill was united in marriage to the former Juanita Belle Pitch in Harlem, MT on December 29, 1957 and she sadly preceded him in death on July 8, 2010. Surviving is his current wife and family friend, Sharon (Kean) Wells; two sons, John A. (Karen) Wells of Wake Forest, NC and James A. Wells of Plainwell, MI; five precious grandchildren, Katie Wells, Sarah (Kyle) Morgan, Tom Wells, Ben (Hilary) Wells & Jon Wells and his brother, Clarence (Sandy) Wells of Otsego, MI. Bill was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy and two brothers, Jim and Orie, Jr.
The Memorial Service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9107 East D Avenue (M-89) with Rev. Shan Martin of Gull Lake, officiating and the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard will bestow military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill's honor may be directed to Kairos Dwelling, 2945 Gull Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
