Winston Hrangthawng

Winston Hrangthawng, age 78, of Springfield, unexpectedly went to be with his Lord & Savior on Thursday morning, October 1, 2020. He was born in Lumbang, Chin State, Burma on February 15, 1942, the loving son of Suak Lian and Ngun Thluai. Winston was a founding member of the Gospel Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and helping others in need.

Winston is survived by his beloved wife, Euphrosne "Frosty" Hrangthawng; his children, Jimmy (Joy Hrangthawng) BawiTinLian, Mary Naih Sia, Richard Than Sang, and Annie (Shan Pwe) Sui Bor; his grandchildren, Josh Laimawi, Abby Suingun Mawi, Aaron Thian Sang, Sophia Thian Hnem Par, Titus Lal Sang, Jocob Thian Hlawn Sang, and Juliann Bawi Nei Sui; and siblings, Ngun Luan of Battle Creek and Hlawn Thuan of Burma. He was sadly preceded in death by his daughter, Maureen Hlawnthiam; his son, Robert Khuang Ciang, both in 2007; and siblings, Hrang Meng and Kulh Sang.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 9th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10th at the Gospel Baptist Church 46 Fox Avenue, Battle Creek where services to celebrate Winston's life will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday.
