Zachary "Zach" Scott Morris

Zachary “Zach” Scott Morris, 28, of Battle Creek, Michigan died at home on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Zach was born June 23, 1994 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Gregory Scott and Angela Marie (Rop) Morris. He was a 2012 graduate of Harper Creek High School where he loved playing baseball and football. After high school he attended Michigan State University. His family had season tickets and he loved attending MSU games with them. Zach enjoyed working out, followed a healthy diet plan and stayed in shape. He loved helping and giving to others. He cherished the yearly family summer vacations, especially camping at Ludington State Park. Zach had a contagious smile and a great sense of humor. Instead of worrying about his own problems, Zach was always concerned about everyone else’s wellbeing. Zach loved animals, especially his dogs, Susie and Ricki. He will always be remembered for his determination and upbeat personality. 

Surviving are his parents, Angela Marie Morris and Gregory Scott Morris both of Battle Creek; sister, Ashley Morris of Battle Creek; a niece, Amelia; grandmothers, Joan Rop of Battle Creek, Deborah (Kim) Ware of Battle Creek, Jayne Osborn of Mason; two aunts, Kim Bystry of Coldwater, Valerie Watson of Grand Haven; three uncles, Mike Rop of Battle Creek, Steve (Patty) Rop of Florida, Rick Osborn of Ohio; six cousins, Kyleigh (Devin) Bloom, Kassidy Bystry, Kelsey Bystry, Davis Rop, Mia Rop and Sydney Watson. Zach was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Hugh Rop and Tom Osborn. 

Friends will be received 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, 105 Capital Avenue N.E., Battle Creek, MI 49017.
